Makers Space Drive

Please click on the link to learn more about Makerspace

To prepare our students for the global world, we wanted to introduce a program called Makerspace.  To define a school makerspace by its purpose and simplest of terms, it is a place where young people have an opportunity to explore their own interests; learn to use tools and materials, both physical and virtual; and develop creative projects.  Our teachers will be designing a "mobile makerspace" so materials can be shared from between TK classes all the way up to our 6th grade students.   We are in our Phase 1 for this school-wide program.  We need your help in collecting simple items from home that can be used for multiple lessons.  Any amount helps!

Our first donation drive is this Wednesday, September 6th during Back to School Night.  In order to get a variety of materials we are asking for each grade level parents donate the following materials.

TK- straws, paper clips

K- pipe cleaners, rubber bands

1st- tape (all materials and sizes), clay

2nd- aluminum foil, spoons

3rd- string, yarn

4th- balloons (all sizes), brown paper bags

5th- disposable cups (all sizes and materials), paper plates (all sizes), paper bowls

6th- craft sticks, toothpicks

* Depending on the grade, other materials such as newspapers, cardboard boxes, cans, 2-litter bottles will be communicated by each teacher.

Thank so much for investing in the growth of our young minds!
